FAQ MediaWiki to Excel Converter
Do I need Microsoft Excel installed?
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser and generates a standard .xlsx file. You can open it with Excel, Google Sheets, LibreOffice, or any other spreadsheet program that supports XLSX.
What happens if my table has no header row?
If there is no explicit header row and you still enable "First Row as Header", the first data row will be treated as column headers. You can always turn this option off and let all rows be treated as plain data.
Why does the preview only show the first 10 rows?
The on-screen preview is intentionally limited to the first 10 rows to keep the interface fast and responsive. The downloaded Excel file still contains all parsed rows from your MediaWiki table.
Are cell types (numbers, dates) preserved?
The converter focuses on preserving the text content and structure of your table. Once the data is in Excel, you can use Excels built-in formatting tools to convert columns to numbers, dates, or other types as needed.
Can I generate multiple sheets from one MediaWiki table?
This tool generates a single worksheet per export. If you need multiple sheets, export different tables separately and then arrange them inside your spreadsheet application.
