How to use the Random Picker

The Random Picker tool lets you run raffles, pick winners, or make decisions with customizable options, weights, and history tracking. Build your wheel or list, spin, and export results with confidence.

Adding entries

  • Single entry: Fill in the label, weight, and color, then click Add entry.
  • Bulk import: Paste comma- or newline-separated values into the bulk field.
  • Weights: Use weights > 1 for higher probability entries. Values < 1 reduce chances.
  • Color palette: Pick from presets or assign custom hex codes.
  • Notes: Attach references (e.g., ticket number, prize description).

Spinning the wheel

  1. Configure duration, revolutions, direction, seed, and manual spin options.
  2. Press Spin for animated selection.
  3. Pointer highlights the winner. If Disable entry is enabled, the winner is removed.
  4. Manual spin allows dragging/flicking the wheel with pointer or touch.

Quick picks

Use quick pick to draw multiple winners instantly. Weights and seeding are respected. Items can be disabled post-selection to avoid duplicates.

Biasing and auditing

  • Seeded spins: Set a seed for deterministic ordering. Share seeds for transparency.
  • Bias spin: Target an item while keeping spinning animation.
  • History: Logs 200 recent selections with time, method, and seed.

Export options

  • Items CSV: Download the current list with weights and active state.
  • History CSV: Export previous selections for record keeping.
  • JSON export: Save everything for re-import or backup.
  • Copy/share: Copy the last selection or share using native OS share (where supported).

Tips for fairness

  1. Review active items and weights before spinning. The probability panel updates live.
  2. Use seeds when you need reproducible audits.
  3. Download history after draws to keep a long-term record.
  4. Disable entries post-selection to avoid repeat winners unless desired.
