Printing & Scanning Tips

Resolution Matters: Avoid resizing the image after download. Blurry edges make barcodes unreadable. Print at 100% scale.

Quiet Zones: Ensure there is at least 5-6mm of empty white space on both the left and right sides of the bars.

Color Contrast: Scanners read red light. Never print red bars on a white background (they disappear to the scanner). Use black on white.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why won't my scanner read the screen? ▼

Traditional laser scanners cannot read from screens because of the glass reflection and lack of contrast. You need a modern CCD or "2D Imager" scanner to read digital barcodes.

Can I assume this verifies my UPC number? ▼

No. This tool generates the image corresponding to the numbers you type. It does not check if the product number is officially registered to your company with GS1.
