IP Address Lookup

Get geolocation and ISP information for any IP address

IP Address Geolocation Tool

Instantly retrieve detailed intelligence for any IPv4 or IPv6 address. This tool queries global WHOIS and GeoIP databases to reveal the physical location, Internet Service Provider (ISP), and network organization associated with an internet connection.

Use Cases

  • 🛡️
Security Analysis: Detect if suspicious traffic is coming from a known high-risk hosting provider or foreign country.
  • 🛒
Fraud Prevention: Verify if a customer's shipping address matches their IP location.
  • 🔧
Network Debugging: Troubleshoot routing issues by seeing which ISP backbone an IP belongs to.

Understanding Accuracy

IP geolocation is not GPS. It relies on database mappings maintained by registrars.

  • Country: 95-99% Accuracy
  • ⚠️ Region/State: 70-80% Accuracy
  • City/Street: Can be off by 50+ miles

Note: Mobile cellular IPs (4G/5G) often route traffic through central gateways far from the user's actual location.

Supported Address Types

IPv4
Standard 32-bit addresses (e.g., 8.8.8.8). The backbone of the legacy internet.
IPv6
Modern 128-bit addresses (e.g., 2001:4860:4860::8888). Fully supported by this tool.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this map show my exact house?
No. IP geolocation typically resolves to the center of a city or the ISP's data center hub. It cannot pinpoint a specific physical address for privacy and technical reasons.
Why does my location show a different city?
This is common. Your ISP might route your traffic through a major hub in a neighboring city. VPNs and corporate proxies will also mask your true location, showing the server's location instead.
Can I look up private IPs?
No. Ranges like 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x are private Local Area Network (LAN) addresses. They exist only within your home or office network and do not have public geographic information.
